Oklahoma,

I want to lead off by asking we all pray for those affected by the wildfires in our state. We are here for you. Do NOT hesitate to reach out to my office. Lean on your neighbors, request federal and state resources, and show kindness to one another as we rebuild.

This week in Washington revolved around confirming more of President Trump's nominees to various departments and agencies. While we’ve confirmed all cabinet-level secretaries, we're working through confirming hundreds more America First fighters. Think of it like a football team. We have our head coaches, now we just need to put our offensive and defensive coordinators in place.

On Wednesday, I introduced a bill called the Give Kids a Chance Act. This legislation will improve outcomes for children with cancer by ensuring they have access to essential treatments and can participate in critical trials. I believe that no child should have to endure the pain and suffering that many with cancer have unfortunately faced. The extension of the Pediatric Priority Review Voucher Program incentivizes companies to develop treatments and therapies for pediatric diseases. Additionally, this bill will allow kids to participate in combination trials that include targeted medicines to ensure that they are able to fight cancer with every possible option out there. Our kids deserve a fighting chance and that is exactly what this bill gives them.

This year alone, the Senate will spend 80% of its time confirming various deputy secretaries, sub-cabinet nominees, ambassadors, and other positions essential to delivering President Trump's agenda. President Trump has named incredible cabinet secretaries, but they cannot deliver alone! Attorney General Pam Bondi at the Department of Justice has Kash Patel at the FBI, etc. In total, we’re looking at over 1,300 potential individuals the Senate has a Constitutional responsibility to get into place. Think of it this way: every business owner needs managers and employees to get the job done. We must get these people in place so we, the president, and the cabinet secretaries can govern.

On Tuesday, I spoke with Lawton-Fort Sill community leaders about issues facing our national defense, addressed DOGE cuts concerns, and answered questions about Oklahoma’s growing defense footprint. A crucial piece to Lawton-Fort Sill’s standing as a premiere national defense hub is the Fires Innovation Science and Technology Accelerator (FISTA). It is a model private-public partnership for communities to replicate across the country to support America’s warfighters. As our nation transitions to modern warfare, our defense needs have changed, and it’s more important than ever that we adapt to the needs of today’s warfighter.

On Wednesday, I visited with the Enid Chamber of Commerce. The relationship between Oklahoma’s military installations and their communities is vital to the prosperity of our state. Working in partnership, Enid supports Vance Air Force Base, and vice versa. We discussed their efforts, in conjunction with the base, to grow their partnership. Additionally, I received updates on their community work, and I explained the pace at which the Executive Branch is overhauling spending cuts. It's important that we focus on the facts and address rumors and speculation. Part of my mission in Washington is building relationships that benefit Oklahoma, and I’m honored to be in this fight for the future of our great country.

On Tuesday, I joined Fox News’ Hannity to discuss recent Houthi strikes, successes of the Trump administration, and hypocrisy from the Left. I made the comparison of the Trump Administration taking the fight straight to terrorists who hate America, while the Biden administration focused on cowardice and appeasement.

On Monday, I hosted a live telephone town hall event with over 19,800 Oklahomans across the state. During the call, I addressed the recent devastating wildfires and took questions on DOGE cuts, border security, returning education to the states, and tariffs, among other topics. When the Senate is in session, this is an easy way to connect with constituents. I always enjoy hearing your stories, your issues, and what I can do to help.

We streamed the live event on Facebook. You can listen to our Listen to the whole conversation here.
