Losing funding for UNFPA’s lifesaving programs is devastating. The impact of these programs is real — and women and girls around the world will suffer.
In war-torn Ukraine, hundreds of thousands of women and girls will be impacted by cuts to safe spaces and healthcare services. Infrastructure has been destroyed by shelling, and those attacks have also created severe psychological trauma for millions — but UNFPA’s mental health services will disappear from the region.
Women in Afghanistan — which currently has the eighth highest maternal death rate in the world — will no longer have access to reproductive and maternal healthcare services provided by midwives and female health workers supported by grant money.

Emergency birthing centers in Gaza will also lose millions of dollars in funding — impacting women giving birth in the war-torn region. Medicine, menstrual supplies, and post-partum kits will be on the chopping block too.

The loss of U.S. funding for our lifesaving work will be nothing short of devastating to those we serve.
Thousands of health clinics worldwide will close. Women in crisis zones will be forced to give birth without medicines, midwives, or equipment. Rape survivors will be denied counseling and medical care. Shipments of lifesaving medical supplies to refugee camps will be disrupted.
The impacts are tremendous — and it will be because of the support of generous donors like you that we can keep up our lifesaving work. Please rush an emergency gift right away to support women and girls around the world.
Thank you,
USA for UNFPA
