Folks — I’ve spent years working on legislation that would expand learning opportunities for students across America on the House Education and Workforce Committee.
So you can imagine the rage I felt when, in a blatant and illegal power grab, Trump signed an executive order dismantling the Department of Education.
Make no mistake: This reckless and misguided decision will widen education disparities in Michigan and across the country.
Our number one responsibility to our students is to give them a fair and adequate public education. Education is the backbone of our country’s innovation, competition, and future, and millions of children rely on the resources from their public schools to set them up for success.
But believe it or not, not all of our leaders believe in public education.
That's why I'll continue advocating for our public schools, holding National Republicans accountable for this huge misstep, and keeping Michiganders informed about what's going on D.C. and how to take action here at home.
We have an FEC End-of-Quarter deadline in two days, and your support helps me keep fighting for all Michiganders. Will you donate $25 or whatever you can today to help my team reach our goal on Monday? [[link removed]]
