Gerrymandering, voter suppression, and trying to overturn elections they lose: THIS is the far-right electioneering playbook, and North Carolina is on the front line. Republican legislators drew congressional maps that are some of the least fair in the nation. They passed onerous voting restrictions that prevented some North Carolinians from casting their ballots. And they’re still trying to throw out over 65,000 legal ballots to overturn a state Supreme Court election they lost. Make no mistake: Despite winning statewide in 2024, Democrats are still underdogs in NC. It won’t be easy to overcome Republicans’ grip on power — especially when they refuse to give it up even if they lose. But we’ve beaten them before. We will do it again.
