Dr. Aaron Weiner, a licensed clinical psychologist, Director of Addiction Services at Linden Oaks Behavioral Health and member of the SAM Scientific Advisory Board, will discuss facts and myths about marijuana within the context of a shifting public acceptance of recreational drug use.
Scientific journal articles will be paired with real-world news to create a holistic understanding, and empower viewers to better talk about marijuana with their family and community.

Presenter Bio:
Dr. Aaron Weiner is a board-certified Psychologist and the Director of Addiction Services at Linden Oaks Behavioral Health. In addition, Dr. Weiner is a member of the SAM Scientific Advisory Board. He earned his doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and completed his fellowship in Addiction Psychology at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.
Dr. Weiner is a strong advocate for evidence-based care in treating chemical dependency and behavioral addictions, as well as a proponent of integrating behavioral health services into medical settings. Dr. Weiner has been an outspoken advocate for numerous forward-leaning trends, including naloxone co-prescribing in hospital settings, fentanyl test strips, responsible opioid disposal, marijuana education, person-first language for stigma reduction, and vaping awareness for youth. He has spoken nationally on the topics of opioid addiction, marijuana commercialization, and the vaping epidemic, as well as has served as a context expert for both policy-makers and media outlets.
In addition to his work in healthcare systems, Dr. Weiner is adjunct faculty in the Counseling Psychology Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and is a member of the Physician Speakers Bureau for the National Safety Council. He has served on the Board of the Society of Addiction Psychology, and won multiple regional awards for his commitment to converting best-practice ideas into real-world change.
Dr. Kevin Sabet, President and Co-Founder of SAM
Presenter Bio: Labelled the "Quarterback of the anti-legalization movement", Dr. Kevin Sabet is a veteran drug policy advisor, having served in the Clinton, Bush, and Obama White House Administrations. He founded Smart Approaches to Marijuana in 2013, alongside former Congressman Patrick Kennedy and Republican pundit David Frum.
