Thank you for praying for the Manila Prayer Gathering! We are overwhelmed by the Lord showing up in a powerful way to make His presence and encouragement known. We are more assured than ever in His promise that He will be with us in the fight for justice in the Philippines. We felt your prayers, and the Lord has responded beyond what we had hoped for or imagined. Please continue to pray with us for the end of online sexual exploitation of children in the Philippines.
Africa & Europe
We praise God for the successful recruitment of 180 new members into the Ghana Survivor Network and for the 80 participants who were able to attend a capacity-building workshop last week in Accra. We praise Him for safe travels and the opportunity for survivors to grow in leadership, strengthen their advocacy skills and collaborate with key stakeholders. Please pray that the knowledge and connections gained will empower them to create safer communities where every child can live free from the threat of trafficking.
Latin America
Praise God for the opportunity to partner with the Supreme Court of El Salvador to strengthen protection measures for women and children. This month, IJM Peru presented the results of a study to the Salvadoran Supreme Court, focused on improving protection measures for women and children who have experienced sexual or physical abuse. They also recommended a tool to help police officers assess the risk faced by each victim who files a complaint. Please pray for God’s guidance as IJM El Salvador and the Supreme Court work together to design and implement this important tool.
South Asia
Praise God for a recent rescue that freed 28 children and eight adults from bondage at a brick kiln. Our team was shocked to see so many small kids—some as young as four—forced to mold thousands of heavy clay bricks. Praise God for the dedicated local authorities who acted quickly to liberate these families. Pray for God’s comfort and confidence as they heal in freedom, and pray for justice for all they had to endure.
