In case you missed it, Trump’s national security adviser – Mike Waltz – accidentally added The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief to a group chat on the unsecured, commercial messaging app Signal, where they were discussing high-level military strikes in Yemen.

According to Politico, Hegseth addressed the issue briefly Wednesday during a weeklong Asia trip. The information in the messages "doesn’t look like war plans," he said. "You know who sees war plans? I see them. Every single day.”

To be clear: if the messages were leaked, it could have put American military personnel in danger.

This is just another example of how toxic masculinity is running rampant in our government. It also serves as a cause for serious concern about the temperament and ability of America’s leaders tasked with negotiating peace on the global stage, as national security remains a pressing topic.
