This could be a defining moment for the future of religious freedom.
In 1980, the Supreme Court ruled in Stone v. Graham that a Kentucky law requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in classrooms violated the Establishment Clause of the Constitution.
As a result, Ten Commandments displays in schools all over the country were removed.
Thankfully, two First Liberty cases recently decided by the Supreme Court have reset the law of land.
And now, state legislatures all over the country are writing and passing new laws to bring back religious displays that have historical significance, including the Ten Commandments.
Just this month, the Texas Senate passed legislation that requires the posting of the Ten Commandments in school classrooms.

Scrubbing all religious expression from the public eye is not only discriminatory and untruthful, but it also undermines the very principles of freedom upon which our country is based.
The truth is religious expression in the public square has always played an integral part of the history and traditions of our country.
The freedoms you and I enjoy, the ones provided by the Constitution, rely on the public displays of foundational documents like the Ten Commandments. They serve as a constant reminder of the freedoms we hold dear and must work to protect.
Thankfully, these displays are starting to return to public squares all across the country.
Last year, Louisianna became the first state to require the Ten Commandments to be posted in classrooms.
And this would not have been possible without God’s favor and supporters like you.
You stood with us in the fights that saved the Bladensburg Cross and preserved Coach Kennedy’s right to pray after high school games.
But these cases did more than that.
They overturned 50 years of bad legal precedent and opened the door to bring faith-based displays like the Ten Commandments back to our hometowns.
