Hi John, I know I recently reached out for your help with the Maximum Impact Fund, and now I'm sending another urgent request. I wouldn't do so unless it was critical that we assist the victims of the devastating earthquake in Southeast Asia. I'd like to explain how you can provide practical help and also ask for your prayers on their behalf. Yesterday, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook Mandalay, Myanmar, including a powerful 6.4 magnitude aftershock. The destruction and loss of life have been felt throughout the region, as far as Thailand. “The death toll and injuries are expected to rise,” said the head of Myanmar’s military government. Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in the world. Limited resources hinder response to a disaster where hundreds have been killed and are missing. In light of this crisis, I am reaching out to you for immediate support. We are deploying staff to the region to assess the situation and communicate with partners in the area about their most urgent needs.
