Governor Gordon appoints Nathaniel Hibben to be a District Court Judge for the First Judicial District
CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Nathaniel Hibben to be a District Court Judge for the First Judicial District serving Laramie County, Wyoming. Hibben’s appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Steven Sharpe. Hibben has served as a Circuit Court Judge in the Eighth Judicial District since 2019. He previously worked as an attorney in private practice, as a Municipal Judge in the town of Torrington, and as a public defender and Deputy Goshen County Attorney. Hibben grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, received a B.S. in History from Iowa State University and graduated cum laude from Liberty University School of Law. “Once again, the Judicial Nominating Commission provided me with three superlatives candidates,” Governor Gordon said. “Judge Hibben’s consistent application of the law as a Circuit Court judge and his balanced legal experience will be valuable in his new role.” “My thanks to Governor Gordon and the Judicial Nominating Commission for their work on this process, and my thanks to Governor Gordon for the honor of this appointment,” Hibben said. “I look forward to serving the people of Laramie County, and I am proud to be a part of the Wyoming judiciary.
