Last night, hundreds of people from across the country turned out for our national action call to stop nearly $1 trillion in Republican-proposed Medicaid cuts that would fund tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.
We heard from our very own Nancy Hagans, RN, President of National Nurses United and the New York State Nurses Association, listened to the personal experience of a Medicaid recipient, and discussed ways people can plug in right away to convince enough members of Congress to oppose these potentially devastating cuts. We know we have a real chance of stopping these cuts – we only need a small handful of Republicans to oppose them.
Now, our next step is to take the more than 55,000 petition signatures we’ve collected and deliver them directly to U.S. representatives and senators during our April 14-18 Week of Action, coinciding with the congressional recess.
Delivering petition signatures is a super easy solo action that anyone can take! We’ll send you a guide with everything you need to print out the petition signatures and deliver them to your representative or senator’s nearest district office.
This is our opportunity to send a message loud and clear to decision-makers in Congress: their constituents want them to fund care, not billionaires, and reject any cuts to Medicaid!
In solidarity,
