Hey friend,

I hope that you are planning a nice weekend. I’m looking forward to a great weekend out in the Quad Cities. There’s nothing like time back home to help with perspective.

Like you, I’ve felt a LOT of feelings since November: anger, frustration, fear, confusion, and even despair. It hasn’t always been fun. There are people in our country that are losing jobs, rights, benefits, and their sense of wellbeing.

When I think about it, I’m consistently left with one thought:

It's time to go where the fight is.

I’m done waiting for some national, Democratic figure to swoop in with a message to save us… we know what to talk about.

I’m done listening to anyone who isn’t ready to show empathy and fight for those who are really hurting… we know better.

We need to be smart, and stand up where we can make a difference, but we have to go where the fight is.

And the fight is in each and every one of our communities. It’s the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, the school board meeting, the canned food drive, the Habitat for Humanity homebuilding project, and yes, the fight for Congress.

I’m going neighbor by neighbor, hometown by hometown to make sure that we are in the fight. Oh, and when it happens, I’ll be right there – to vote against and speak out against – whatever nonsense the other side comes up with.

I hope you’ll stay with me in this fight. If you’re able, please help me hit our end-of-quarter goal with a $3 donation.

Talk soon and be well!
