A Message from Gabe:
Greetings Rhode Islanders,
This week, we learned that senior officials in President Donald Trump’s administration texted highly sensitive military information — including the weapons systems and exact timing of a military operation — over a commercial messaging app. Furthermore, the National Security Advisor added a journalist to the group chat where this classified information was shared. You can view the House Intelligence Committee's hearing on this matter here.
The reckless actions of these Trump officials undermine the trust placed in our defense institutions and threatens the safety of servicemembers who swore an oath to protect and defend our nation. I demanded answers into the nature of the messages exchanged as well as the legal justification used for the strikes. I also sought answers on process reforms, safeguards, and protections that are being implemented in response to this unprecedented security lapse. The American people have a right to know why the President’s top advisors were carelessly texting details about classified attack plans, endangering our national security.
The American people deserve transparency, accountability, and a government that puts country over chaos. Our leaders must take this moment seriously— the stakes are too high.
Sincerely, |
 |

As we work to ensure federally-appropriated funds are rightfully deposited, I am pleased the Rhode Island Department of Transportation signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation to unfreeze $30 million in funding for the Washington Bridge.
These resources will bring us closer to the day when a new westbound span is built, alleviating the burden to residents, commuters, and businesses alike. |

Since President Trump's and Elon's policies started slashing critical support for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), air traffic controllers have had to deal with staffing and funding shortages.
This week, I met with members of National Air Traffic Controllers Association to discuss the critical need for investments in the FAA and promoting safety in aviation. |

While the Trump administration's policies spread fear and undermine our nation’s legacy as a beacon of hope, I am proud to support organizations like the Refugee Dream Center that provide wrap-around support to refugees in our state.
I am fighting with my colleagues in Congress for an immigration system that celebrates the contributions of all those who make Rhode Island a vibrant place to call home.

This year, the United Veterans Council of Woonsocket honored my constituents, David Malone and Jackie Boudreau, as the Veteran and Patriot of the Year.
In Congress, I am working to ensure every Veteran can access the health care, resources, and support they have earned. |

15 years ago, Democrats transformed health care with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Today, more than 50 million Americans have gained health coverage through the ACA.
If Republicans do not extend the ACA premium tax credits this year, costs will skyrocket. I am committed to protecting this progress to ensure health care access and affordability for all. |

Rhode Islanders are showing up and pushing back against President Trump and DOGE’s policies. That was especially true last week at the Rally for Working People, where I spoke on the work we are doing to fight back in Congress.
I will not sit idly as their policies gut critical programs and government agencies to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. |

I visited Central High School in Providence last week to speak with their civics class and share how I'm working for them in Congress.
In return, I asked them for three things:
- Find a passion and run hard towards it.
- Be kind.

Last week, I met with my district Climate Advisory Committee to share updates and listen to impacts on the Ocean State.
As the Trump administration's policies roll back environmental protections and climate investments, I’m working with my colleagues on the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology to advocate for climate science and our environment. |

Amo Elevates Rhode Island’s Blue Economy in First Hearing as Ranking Member
CLICK HERE TO WATCH: Congressman Amo delivers remarks highlighting Rhode Island’s success in growing the Blue Economy while calling out President Trump’s policies of systematic disinvestment in science and economic development.
This week, I spoke at the first Subcommittee on Environment hearing of the year. I highlighted Rhode Island’s success in growing the Blue Economy and called out President Trump’s policies of systematic disinvestment in science and economic development.
If there is one thing Rhode Island knows, it is the ocean. Our coastal industries support over 36,000 jobs and contribute over $5 billion to our state each year. But President Trump’s policies attacking science and economic development threaten to throw Rhode Island’s thriving Blue Economy into a tailspin. That’s why I highlighted the harm President Trump’s actions are causing to the ocean researchers and businesses.
