This Week: Tell Your Senators, Vote No on Huckabee āœļø | The Greatest
Threat to Jewish Safety is Fascism šŸšØ| Introducing Our Policy Center Team
ā| J Streetā€™s Haggadah Supplement šŸ•Šļø | Our Democracy To-Do List šŸ—³ļø| And
much more.

āœļø Tell Your Senators, Vote No on Huckabee: In response to Huckabeeā€™s

*Ā Huckabee Endorses Annexation: When Huckabee was asked if he supported
West Bank annexation, he answered, "Yes sir." When asked about the
two-state solution, he suggested that Palestinians move to other
countries. Share our coverage of Huckabeeā€™s hearing on [ [link removed] ]Instagram,
[ [link removed] ]Bluesky or [ [link removed] ]Facebook.

*Ā Our Response: Huckabeeā€™s embrace of annexation, extremist settlers and
fanatical Christian Zionism stands in stark contrast to the Jewish,
democratic values held by the overwhelming majority of our community ā€“
and in stark contrast to Israelā€™s founding values of justice, equality
and peace. [ [link removed] ]Read our full statement >>

šŸšØ The Greatest Threat to Jewish Safety is Fascism: Weā€™re witnessing
Americaā€™s rapid descent into authoritarianism in real-time. We were
shocked by scenes on Tuesday of a young graduate student at Tufts
University, Rumeysa Ozturk, being ambushed on the street in front of her
home and pressed into a car by masked agents ā€“ images straight out of
authoritarian regimes that Jews spent generations escaping.

*Ā Our Response: ā€œIt is simply chilling for us ā€“ as Jews ā€“ to see the
rights of immigrants and minorities being undercut by state
authorities in our name. Our history and our values compel us to speak
out, and we call on the leaders of other major American Jewish
institutions to speak out as well.ā€ [ [link removed] ]Read our full statement >>

*Ā Act Now or Regret your Silence: ā€œIn the face of all that Bibi and
Trump are doing, too many in our community still see the ā€˜leftā€™ as a
greater threat to their interests and values than the early-stage
fascism taking hold in both countries.ā€ J Street President Jeremy
Ben-Ami writes. [ [link removed] ]Read Jeremyā€™s Word on the Street and subscribe for

*Ā Trumpā€™s Crackdown on Free Speech Wonā€™t End With Universities: MSNBCā€™s
Ali Velshi argues that Trumpā€™s attack on education is really about
chilling free speech. Quoting our [ [link removed] ]statement, he said, ā€œIf the
administration was serious about fighting antisemitismā€¦ it might start
by throwing out the slew of bigots and conspiracy theorists it has
promoted to top positions in its own ranks.ā€ [ [link removed] ]Watch or read the
whole segment here >>

ā Introducing Our Policy Center Team: While Trump and Netanyahu govern by
chaos, weā€™re building a robust counter-agenda for lasting progress and
peace. Weā€™re thrilled to announce new additions to our Policy Center Team,
representing the best and brightest thinkers on US-Israel relations, the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the future of the Middle East.

*Ā Why Iā€™m Joining J Street: Ilan Goldenberg, former Middle East Advisor
in the Biden and Obama Administrations and now J Streetā€™s Senior Vice
President and Chief Policy Officers, writes, ā€œIā€™m excited to be
joining J Street because of the progressive, pragmatic and absolutely
essential role this organization plays within the Jewish community, on
Capitol Hill and within the Democratic Party.ā€ [ [link removed] ]Read more >>

*Ā Meet the Team: Weā€™re bringing on a slew of former officials as fellows
and contributors, including former Special Envoy for
Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations Frank Lowenstein, former Principal
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Jen Gavito, former
USAID West Bank Mission Director Larry Garber and former Chief of
Staff to Israelā€™s Minister for Regional Cooperation Yael Patir.

October 7 and our hearts are heavy with grief for the hostages still
trapped in Gaza and Gazan civilians facing airstrikes and starvation.

readings and reflections to ground your Seder table conversation in
these difficult times.

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy
Americans who want Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the
Jewish people. Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we
advocate policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish
and democratic values, leading to a two-state solution to the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
