Dear Neighbor,
One of our top priorities this session is cracking down on the fraud, waste and abuse that has seeped into our state programs. A new website is now available for whistleblowers to "confidentially" report suspected fraud, waste and abuse within Minnesota state government.
The launch of MNFraud.com [ [link removed] ] is just one way House Republicans are working to root out tax dollar improprieties running rampant in Minnesota programs, costing taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

This website brings government back to the people, empowering them to serve the watchdog role. If they see something, they now have a place to register their concerns for further investigation.
The new website is designed to be a hub for Minnesotans to report concerns about suspected or observed misconduct in state program services. Submitted information will be reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and follow-up. The platform ensures the security and confidentiality of all information, including whistleblower identities, using safeguards similar to secure payment processing systems.
Minnesota has experienced widespread fraud in several state-run programs, with hundreds of millions of dollars lost to fraudulent claims and mismanagement. Scandals involving Feeding Our Future, childcare assistance, medical aid, and welfare programs continue to make headlines. The underlying issue is the need for stronger safeguards, transparency, and accountability in managing taxpayer-funded programs.
Minnesotans work hard for their money and our government owes it to them to be good stewards of the tax dollars that are collected. Citizen participation is the key to ensuring accountability and this website is a good step forward in that regard. I hope people will take advantage of this new tool if they see tax dollar misuse or encounter a scenario where they suspect it is happening.
*First bill to pass floor!*

I passed my first bill on the House floor this week – with overwhelming bipartisan support, 132-0! While H.F. 1330 [ [link removed] ] may not be the most thrilling piece of legislation – it updates Minnesota's gasoline specifications to align with uniform standards – it's still an important milestone for me. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

*Montevideo boys basketball team*

Thank you to the Montevideo boys basketball delegation for stopping by the Capitol during the team’s recent trip to the state tournament. Not only are they extremely successful on the hardwood, but these boys also excel in the classroom, winning the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association Team Academic State Class AA Championship with a cumulative GPA of 3.82. Nice job, Monte!

Until next time, I hope you have a great weekend. Please let me know how I can help as we get ready to hit the home stretch in the 2025 session and adjourn with our work done on time May 19.
Sincerely,
Scott
