Donald Trump poses an unprecedented threat to our democracy, engaging in multiple abuses of power since the start of his second term. He blatantly disregards our system of checks and balances by defying funding decisions made by Congress and ignoring orders from the judiciary branch.

The Framers designed the Impeachment Clause for this very reason – to address a corrupt president who tramples on the Constitution.

Trump is not a monarch. He is beholden to the Constitution, as is Congress. If we are to preserve our democracy for the people, then Congress must investigate and, if necessary, remove a corrupt executive from office.
