BLUE LETTER: The Police State’s Here: Geneva Conventions Ignored, Students Surveilled, Freedom Buried in a Gravel Pit

We are that country now. You know, the one you saw that report about on the nightly news. The one you once shuttered at the thought of living in.

• Former SD Gov. Kristi Noem made a POW video. Trump’s heinous Homeland Security hatchet (wo)man—who did for “taking her to the gravel pit” what The Godfather did for “leave the gun, take the Cannoli,”—went to El Salvador’s gang-filled CECOT prison for a photo-op. It’s where we recently deported Venezuelans for the crimes of being a “gay barber” & having a “Real Madrid tattoo.”

  Noem took a staged pic in front of shirtless, lined up prisoners. The behavior we’ve come to expect of this Lewandowki-lubing clown, yet still a new low for America. And, even though, she had an 18-karat gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch worth $50,000, Noem’s behavior still violated the Geneva Convention:

“…prisoners of war must at all times be humanely treated and protected against acts of violence, intimidation, insults, and public curiosity.”

Gravel Pit McGee, who again, shot a dog to death and boasted about it in her memoir, is making the land of the free start to feel a lot like a kennel with no exits.

• Sadly, cretin Kristi Noem isn’t our only Police-State: America story. Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish Tufts student, was snatched off the streets and taken to a Louisiana ICE detention center. Trump’s America Arrest First Ask Questions Never chodes did it faster than a judge could order an injunction (see a pattern?).

  This isn’t about her political beliefs. I bet I disagree with much of what she wrote in her op-ed that allegedly got her renditioned to LA (the op-ed’s been magically disappeared…like her). Watch the video—see six masked men grab her in broad daylight, hear her cry out in fear. It should make you sick. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN HERE. But it is. Under the light of day..

  

• Sorry to change topic abruptly, but we need some feel-good stuff. For me, baseball’s opening day yesterday is that. I went to Yankees games with my dad as a kid, memories I’ll cherish forever. Now I go with my boys to Reds games in Cincy, the Yanks when in NYC. No matter your team, in the chaos & cruelty of our current moment, there’s no better time to make memories with those you love.
