[link removed] [[link removed]] I’ll be blunt: Times are tough right now.

Families are digging deeper and deeper into their pockets to pay for everyday necessities, our health care is in flux, and our own government is calling us “fraudsters” for caring about our Social Security checks.

But here in Kansas, we’re no strangers to adversity. We’ve made it through difficult times before, and we can do it again, as long as we put in the necessary work to show up, speak out, and stay engaged. And because so many folks are eager to get involved and join this fight, I know that we can make a difference, even when progress seems difficult.

One of the best ways you can make an impact? Attend a town hall meeting. Look, it’s up in the air whether or not National Republicans will actually attend those meetings, but it doesn’t matter. When hundreds (or even thousands!) of folks gather in a single space, it makes noise. It grabs headlines. And it creates momentum that is impossible for politicians to ignore.

Another way to make change happen? Share your story. Tell your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers about how the GOP’s actions have impacted your life. If you had a question regarding your Social Security benefits, but were placed on hold for hours due to staffing cuts, tell people your experience. And if you’re worried about the state of your health care, don’t be silent.

National Republicans want their actions to be viewed in the abstract. But the truth is, they impact millions of Americans on a personal level. By sharing your story, even on social media, you’ll help show the GOP that their dangerous cuts aren’t just another data point. They are impacting families in every state and every community across the country.

None of us are powerless. We have the tools to slow down, and even stop, this dangerous wave of extremism. We just have to know how to use them. I know that if we stick together, speak out, and fight back, we will get through this. We will continue to move forward, despite everything and everyone that is trying to drag us backwards.

I promise to stay in this fight, no matter what lies ahead. And even when the going gets tough, I’ll keep working to deliver real progress to the people of Kansas.

By showing up and making our voices heard, we can win the big fights ahead of us. But it’s going to take all of us. So please, if you can, chip in a donation to support this grassroots team today.
