Friend,
As chairman of the Judiciary Committee, I was proud to hold the first congressional hearings on gun violence in eight years.
Sadly, Republicans are so captured by the gun industry that they continue to block common-sense reform supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans.
That’s why I’m wearing orange today, on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, to stand in solidarity with the millions of Americans demanding change to stop senseless violence and death.
Add your name here to demand that Republicans stop blocking progress on common sense gun reform!
Republicans in the Senate refuse to move forward with bipartisan background check legislation or the broadly popular assault weapons ban that we passed in the House
over a year ago.
Enough is enough. How many more innocent people need to die before Republicans decide to put American lives above the profits of the gun industry? Gun violence disproportionately impacts marginalized communities and needs to be a top priority along with systemic policing reform.
This is why I won’t stop fighting, and why I’m so proud to have received the endorsements of prominent gun reform organizations like Brady PAC, Everytown for Gun Safety, Americans for Responsible Solutions, Giffords PAC, Moms Demand Action, and dedicated activists committed to making change.
Sign here to join me in demanding that Republicans stop blocking progress on gun reform.
Thank you for all that you do.
Jerry
