Serving Pennsylvania's 2nd District

Friend,

This month, I traveled across Philadelphia to hear directly from our communities — especially during a time of chaos and dysfunction under the new administration’s policies.

At events, including a town hall I held at the Philadelphia AFL-CIO, I stood up for working people. We focused on the escalating attacks against federal workers — and the impact is real.

Are you alarmed by Elon Musk and DOGE’s policies that interfere with federal benefits like Social Security, Medicaid, and SNAP?

More than 25,000 federal employees live right here in Philadelphia, and I heard firsthand how Elon Musk’s reckless policies are hurting them — including the firing of 400 IRS workers who help process tax returns and keep vital services running. If you're facing issues with your federal tax return, please contact my office — we're here to help.

I also heard deep concerns about conservative proposals to gut Medicaid. Nearly 44% of my constituents rely on Medicaid, and I will fight these cuts with everything I have.

I also stood shoulder to shoulder with our local postal workers to push back against efforts to privatize the U.S. Postal Service. These dangerous proposals would put corporate profits ahead of people and threaten a service millions rely on.

In my district alone, more than 300,000 addresses depend on mail delivery six — and sometimes seven — days a week. No matter the ZIP code, the Postal Service ensures timely access to prescriptions, financial documents, and more — especially for seniors, veterans, and working families. I will continue defending this treasured institution.

Despite the dysfunction in Washington, my focus remains clear: delivering for the people of Philadelphia. I’ll keep fighting to protect workers, defend vital services, and put people over politics — always.

Sincerely,
