John,
A few weeks ago, I joined Vermont Senators Bernie Sanders and Peter Welch for a virtual town hall. We heard from Vermonters who are deeply concerned about the Trump administration’s illegal attacks on working families and our democracy.
The last few weeks, I’ve been traveling specifically to areas in Vermont that Trump carried in the last election — because I represent all Vermonters, not just those who voted for me.
Meanwhile, Republicans are swearing off town halls altogether — or even worse, only allowing in registered GOP voters like a recent town hall hosted by Andy Biggs. It’s shameful.
As Donald Trump and Elon Musk attempt to tear down our federal government and gut critical programs like Social Security and Medicare, voters deserve to hear from their elected representatives and demand accountability.
If Republicans refuse to face voters and take responsibility for their actions, Democrats will step up to make sure voters know that House Republicans are in lockstep behind Trump’s plans to deliver a massive tax break for billionaires that’s paid for by your hard-earned benefits.
Congress needs leaders who will actually protect and deliver for their constituents instead of playing political games, which is why I won’t stop speaking up for all Vermonters. Will you pitch in any amount before our upcoming end-of-quarter fundraising deadline to have my back in this fight?
