Women and girls will always need access to basic hygiene supplies like menstrual products, even during war and natural disasters.
UNFPA is there to deliver Dignity Kits to women and girls in crisis zones around the globe. These kits contain essentials for women and girls to care for themselves in the face of natural disasters and crises. Each kit comes with washable and disposable sanitary pads, underwear, toiletries such as soap, a reusable cloth, a whistle, and a solar-powered flashlight.
Each Dignity Kit costs only $15 to create, but giving women in crisis zones a sense of normalcy and decency is priceless to the recipients.
Now that UNFPA has lost critical funding from the U.S. government, we’re counting on the generosity of donors like you to help us provide Dignity Kits to women worldwide. Will you make a gift to deliver Dignity Kits to those who need them around the world? [[link removed]?]
DELIVER DIGNITY KITS [[link removed]?]
Last year, UNFPA delivered millions of dignity kits across the globe.
Deep in the Peruvian jungles, where severe weather can devastate communities, UNFPA is there to provide dignity kits and support women through our mobile health unit.
Lebanon has seen an uptick in violence during the ongoing hostilities. During this time, UNFPA and partners are delivering 8,000 dignity kits and psychological first aid services that are essential for people experiencing the trauma of displacement and violence.
In war-torn Sudan, where millions of women have been displaced and hospitals destroyed, our dignity kits give women the care they need during crises.
12-year-old Nabaa arrived at a UNFPA shelter and got her period for the first time. She lost her mother and couldn’t ask her father for help with menstrual health. But UNFPA was there for her.
“They gave me this bag with sanitary napkins and clothes and taught me how to use them,” she said. “They guided me."
