Don’t be complicit – ending the drug war is part of the solution.
Drug Policy Alliance
Drugs are not an excuse. There is no excuse.

Friend,

I’ll get right to it. It is time to mobilize.

George Floyd drew his last breath after one police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes while another taunted “don’t do drugs, kids” to the gathered crowd.

Drug involvement –whether real or perceived- is a convenient excuse for these violent and too often fatal law enforcement interactions. At DPA, we stand committed to removing drug involvement as a cover for disregarding the dignity and sanctity of human life.

The war on drugs has always been a tool of racial oppression – BOTH MUST END.

While everyone suffers under drug laws, they are at their most vicious and deadly when used as originally intended – against people of color, and particularly Latinx and Black people. Join us and help us dismantle this heinous drug war.

George Floyd didn’t deserve to die. Breonna Taylor didn’t deserve to die. No one deserves to die for perceived or actual drug use!

With your support, we will organize, strategize, lobby, and hold our elected officials and institutions accountable to decarcerate our jails and prisons, decriminalize all drugs, prioritize the health and safety of people who use drugs—and to end this drug war once and for all. Please give what you can today.
