Dear John,
As you read this, thousands of Americans are nursing wounds delivered to them by militarized police during peaceful protests against systemic racism.
Hundreds of thousands more are mourning loved ones needlessly lost to a preventable disease due to greed and elite incompetence.
And millions upon millions are coming to the conclusion that it doesn’t need to be like this anymore.
America is at a crossroads, and the path we take from here will be determined by what we do. Do we continue to live by the rules of an establishment that says it’s impossible to dream big, to protect Black lives, to tackle climate change, or do we pick another path?
This month, we have an opportunity to nominate two black leaders who fully understand the crises we face, and the opportunities of this moment: Jamaal Bowman for Congress in New York, and Charles Booker for Senate in Kentucky.
They’ve both been marching alongside the millions of us who have risked our safety to say Black lives matter.
They’re both facing establishment candidates who preach caution instead of boldness, and patience instead of progress.
And they’re both Green New Deal champions who will fight for the action needed to protect our generation.
They’re the underdogs, but when people hear their messages, people love them. Jamaal just got the endorsement of AOC after his incumbent opponent returned to his district for the first time in months, then got caught on a hot mic saying he wouldn’t care about being there except he was being challenged.
Charles has been surging against his establishment opponent this week after people saw his moving and powerful speeches at protests about how we must protect Black lives.
This is our moment. Can you split a $27 donation between Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) and Charles Booker (KY-Sen) to help them win their primaries this month?

Millions are taking to the streets to demand we protect Black lives. Workers are walking off the job and putting big corporations on the defense for the first time in decades. People are providing the care their neighbors need and are seeing firsthand how those in power are failing our country. Together, we’re transforming this country.
We’re going to continue that energy into the ballot box, and then Congress.
Onward and onward,
Sophia Zaia, Sunrise Electoral Organizer
