Friend,
Earlier this week, The Atlantic reported that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth leaked war plans over unsecured text messages.
This reckless mishandling of intelligence not only shows a colossal lack of judgment but also puts our national security, our troops, and every single American at risk.
Instead of providing answers and taking measures to ensure this never happens again, Hegseth lied about the incident and attacked the journalist. That’s unacceptable.
Pete Hegseth put our troops and American national security in danger. Add your name if you agree Hegseth must be fired.
When Hegseth came before the Senate as a nominee, Democrats warned that he was dangerously unfit for the job. Unfortunately, we were right.
If any American servicemember committed such an egregious breach of operational security, they would be investigated and likely prosecuted. Hegseth should not be allowed to escape accountability.
I am calling for a bipartisan Senate investigation into this incident. If you agree Hegseth must be fired, add your name now.
Sincerely,
Chuck Schumer
