Hi john,
Friday – finally! And time for your weekly Abortion AF check-in… are you taking care of yourself, friend?? Drinking water, unclenching your jaw, reading up on guillotine construction? Self-care is important, especially as we go through the abortion news of the week.
Grab your knock-off Stanley, and let’s get through it together!
Georgia On My Mind But Full of Rage
This week serves a rotted peach as yet another horrifying pregnancy case emerges. A woman was found unconscious and bleeding out from a miscarriage, and instead of helping… THEY ARRESTED HER [[link removed]] . She almost died, but the state has clearly shown that they don’t give a single fuck about pregnant people of color, especially when its their own dangerous laws that caused this to begin with. We’re over the trend of states charging people who dispose of their miscarriage with improper “handling of a corpse” just because they can’t get the abortion charges they actually want, stemming from problems they created. And the icing on this triple layer shit-fuck? The monsters who keep creating the laws that continue to kill women are trying to pass AN EVEN STRICTER ABORTION BAN. [[link removed]] Depravity is the point .
Pennsylvania: We See You!
With the awful comes some good, too – Pennsylvania is the latest state to jump on the “shield law” bandwagon [[link removed]] ! Shield laws protect or “shield” abortion providers in states where abortion is legal from being prosecuted by out-of-state snatch snitches for helping patients living in abortion ban states access pills through the mail. As anti-abortion states try to extend their reach where they’re not wanted (which is here, there, everywhere, and especially in your underwear), we love to see more places like PA step up and tell them to GTFO. Keep it up, Pennsylvania!!
A digital illustration of a park scene features two benches, street lamps, trees, and a pond with a swan in the background. A woman stands next to a corgi near one bench, labeled 'Abortion Providers.' A man wearing a green uniform and hat, carrying a trash bag near a trash can, is labeled 'States with Abortion Bans.' Above them, a signpost or label reads 'Pennsylvania.' The scene visually suggests a contrast between Pennsylvania abortion providers and states with abortion bans. [[link removed]]
