I’ve known Gerry for almost 20 years, and I’m so proud to call him a friend. He’s a public servant in the truest sense of the words — from back in the 1990s when he was serving on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors (and I was in local government too, on Richmond City Council), to 2008 when he flipped a Republican-held seat to become a member of Congress.
Now, as the Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee, he’s working incredibly hard to hold the Trump Administration and Elon Musk accountable for their onslaught of illegal actions that are hurting the American people. In the last two months he’s initiated more than 150 investigations and inquiries into the Administration and DOGE — and I’m grateful we have him at the helm of this work that’s so desperately needed. I love the guy, and I’m glad to be celebrating his birthday — I hope you’ll join me by signing his card! I know he’ll appreciate it.
