Good morning Democrats,

There are many events coming up and we don't want you to miss a single opportunity! Please RSVP for our next protest happening April 5 HERE. We will also be celebrating Earth Day 2025 by tabling at the Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration and could use your help. Volunteer for a tabling shift HERE. Thank you to all of our volunteers who participated this week while we hosted our final GOTV phone bank for Gay Valmont. Gay's election is April 1 and there are additional online phone bank events for those who would like to volunteer directly with her team. Check out all of the additional community event details below.

On Saturday, April 5th, we're taking to the streets to protest with a clear message: Hands off!  We the people reject the Trump-Musk coup and VETO Project 2025. Indian River County is protesting to fight back!

Join us in peaceful dissent to tell Trump & Musk to keep their HANDS OFF our medicaid, medicare, social security, our wallets, our jobs, our bodies, democracy, personal data, public land, veteran services, cancer research, nato, immigrants, consumer protections, clean energy, schools, free speech, trans healthcare and clean air.

Attend our sign making party Friday, April 4, 10 am to 4 pm at 2345 14th Ave in Vero Beach or print your sign at https://brandfolder.com/s/trktmftbhrcpqjrmcjgk5cxm

This protest is a nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

While House Republicans have been directed by Speaker Johnson to withhold from hosting in person town halls, Representative Mike Haridopolos is hosting another telephone town hall on Monday, April 28th at 5:30PM. Make sure you RSVP HERE by April 27th to confirm your spot on the call!

We also want to flag that Brady has compiled this list of questions to help you engage your lawmakers on gun violence prevention.
A huge thank you to Johnny Ellis for providing our DEC with valuable information about gated communities. His expertise have been pivotal in enhancing our GOTV efforts. Learn more about Johnny's work at https://www.ellismapping.com/

Clothe and Empower
Instead of focusing on overcrowded immigration detention centers, we can take action to support the farmworkers who help feed our communities. The Long Sleeve Relief Campaign, organized by the Farmworkers Association of Florida, is collecting new or gently used long-sleeved cotton shirts (up to XL) to protect workers from extreme weather, pesticides, and insects. They also accept children's clothing, toys, and select food items. To contribute, call 888-275-9953 or email [email protected]. Donations can be dropped off at 29 S. Maple St. Unit A, Fellsmere (Mon-Fri, 9 AM - 6 PM).
Help Tie the U.S. House
There are 218 Republicans and 215 Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives. This narrow GOP majority can be eliminated and the House could be tied if Democrats win three upcoming special elections. Here are the multiple ways you can support these three key races.

FL-01: Gay Valimont  is a dedicated mother, community advocate, and leader in Florida's 1st District.

FL-06: Josh Weil is a single father and public school educator, is running to flip Florida’s 6th District.

NY-21: Blake Gendebien

This year, 2025, there are City Council elections in Fellsmere, Sebastian and Vero Beach. We continue to seek candidates to run for office in Indian River, if interested contact [email protected] or call the office.

Running for office takes a lot of courage. Complete FDP's Run for Office Form to be added to their candidate newsletter and stay in the loop on how FDP support our candidates!
