Top MS-13 Gang Member Arrested in Virginia

Just the News: The FBI on Thursday announced the arrested a top MS-13 gang member in Virginia. The unnamed suspect, 24, was taken into custody in Woodbridge, Virginia (Just the News). House Passes Act to Limit Foreign Interference in Universities

Just the News: The Republican-led House on Thursday passed legislation to limit foreign influence in U.S. universities and colleges. The DETERRENT Act passed in a 241 to 169 vote. The legislation mandates that schools have to report foreign gifts that are at $50,000 or more to the Department of Education. The legislation bans donations from China and Russia (Just the News). Stop Antisemitism: Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib tried adding an amendment to include the antisemitic BDS resolution – it was swiftly rejected (X).

University of Michigan Ends DEI

USA Today: The University of Michigan is closing its Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, a major retreat for a school that has long championed its progressive values in the wake of executive orders from President Donald Trump that have targeted DEI efforts nationwide. University President Santa Ono informed staffers in a statement posted to the university’s website (USA Today). Ilya Shapiro: This is amazing. They were the worst one, not counting the multi-campus University of California system. But we have to be vigilant to make sure that at least some of the programming doesn’t survive under some other name or structure (X).

Marco Rubio Removes 300 Student Visas from Students for Antisemitic Behavior

CBS: Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday that 300 student visas have been revoked, asserting “we have a right” to rescind the visas of students who participate in campus protests, despite questions about due process and First Amendment objections… Rubio continued that if a student then lost his or her visa, “you’re no longer legally in the United States. And we have a right, like every country in the world has a right, to remove you from our country.” Rubio said that at least 300 students had their visas revoked. “We do it every day. Every time I find one of these lunatics, I take away their visa,” he said (CBS). Just the News: The comments comes as the U.S. cracks down on both antisemitism on college campuses and illegal immigration. Columbia University served as the hotbed of pro-Palestine demonstrations last year, which damaged the university’s campus and saw participants harass Jewish students and faculty (Just the News).

Department of Health and Human Services to Fire Additional 10,000 Employees

Associated Press: In a major overhaul, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will lay off 10,000 workers and shut down entire agencies, including ones that oversee billions of dollars in funds for addiction services and community health centers across the country… Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. criticized the department he oversees as an inefficient “sprawling bureaucracy” in a video announcing the restructuring Thursday. He faulted the department’s 82,000 workers for a decline in Americans’ health… The restructuring plan caps weeks of tumult at the nation’s top health department, which has been embroiled in rumors of mass firings, the revocation of $11 billion in public health funding for cities and counties, a tepid response to a measles outbreak, and controversial remarks about vaccines from its new leader (Associated Press). DC Draino: RFK just fired another 10,000 HHS employees. This is on top of 10,000 who already quit (X).

DOJ Seizes $200,000 in Cryptocurrency from Hamas

Townhall: The Justice Department on Thursday announced that it has disrupted a scheme to finance terrorist group Hamas. The DOJ seized a little over $200,000 in cryptocurrency that was supposed to go toward funding Hamas… Hamas receives funding from a myriad of sources. A significant portion comes from state sponsors such as Iran and Qatar. The Iranian regime has given as much as $260 million each year, Reuters reported. Between 2007 and 2021, Qatar has sent about $1.8 billion to the terrorist group (Townhall). DOJ: Included among the assets seized were cryptocurrency addresses valued at approximately $89,900 and three additional accounts containing cryptocurrency valued at approximately $111,500. These accounts were registered in the names of Palestinian individuals living in Turkey and elsewhere (DOJ).

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem Tours El Salvador's CECOT Prison

Townhall: Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem shared a two-word message to criminal illegal aliens during her visit Wednesday to El Salvador’s CECOT mega-prison: “Leave now.” After thanking the country and its president, Nayib Bukele, for housing some terrorist gang members removed from the U.S., Noem warned criminal aliens they could end up there as well (Townhall). Secretary Kristi Noem: President Trump and I have a clear message to criminal illegal aliens: LEAVE NOW. If you do not leave, we will hunt you down, arrest you, and you could end up in this El Salvadoran prison (X).

Trump to Impose a Flat 25-Percent Tariff on Imported Vehicles from All Countries

Wall Street Journal: President Trump said he would impose 25% tariffs on all vehicles imported to the U.S., acting on a promise that could further pressure car and truck prices that have been rising for years… The auto tariffs would begin a day after Trump is set to announce a broader slate of trade actions. Trump’s so-called reciprocal tariffs, slated for April 2, were originally planned to equalize U.S. tariffs with those charged by foreign nations. But Trump said the tariffs he plans to implement would likely be lower than that. Trading partners including Canada and the European Union responded to Trump’s earlier tariffs with duties of their own (Wall Street Journal). Donald Trump: LIBERATION DAY IN AMERICA IS COMING, SOON. Las Vegas Law Enforcement Arrest Suspect in Tesla Firebombing Attacks

Wall Street Journal: The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have arrested a suspect they said firebombed five vehicles at a Tesla sales center last week. Authorities said Thursday they arrested Paul Kim, 36 years old, in connection with the incident. Kim shot at the vehicles and tossed Molotov cocktails at them, extensively damaging the cars, police said. Kim also allegedly spray painted the word “resist” on the front doors of the Tesla sales center in Las Vegas. Kim was charged with three counts of arson, three counts of unlawful possession of explosives or incendiary devices, four counts of destroying property and five counts of discharging a firearm into a vehicle or structure. He also faces federal charges of arson and possession of a destructive device, said Spencer Evans, special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Las Vegas Division (Wall Street Journal). Bill Melugin: Las Vegas Metro Police say a search of Tesla firebombing suspect Paul Kim’s social media shows him with potential communist & pro-Palestine affiliations. They say they have a DNA match and showed video of him using a rifle to shoot out surveillance cameras before attack (X).

Activist Judge Assigned Another Trump Case

Townhall: The activist judge trying to hamper President Donald Trump’s mass deportation efforts just got assigned to the case surrounding the “Signalgate” fiasco. This development comes after American Oversight filed a lawsuit against Trump administration officials who were involved in the private chat to which journalist Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally invited. Judge James Boasberg was selected to preside over the case (Townhall). Donald Trump: How disgraceful is it that “Judge” James Boasberg has just been given a fourth “Trump Case,” something which is, statistically, IMPOSSIBLE… He is Highly Conflicted, not only in his hatred of me — Massive Trump Derangement Syndrome! — but also, because of disqualifying family conflicts. Boasberg, who is the Chief Judge of the D.C. District Court, seems to be grabbing the “Trump Cases” all to himself, even though it is not supposed to happen that way (Truth).
