Australia is at a turning point. We can’t afford to keep heading down the current path.
Families are struggling to make ends meet. People are having to make sacrifices just to afford the weekly shop and cover their rent or mortgage.
The Labor government has the wrong priorities.
Wasteful spending has driven up inflation and interest rates, meaning mortgages, rents and everyday items like groceries are costing us much more.
Since Albanese and Labor took power, Australia has had the biggest fall in living standards in the developed world. Regional communities are falling behind.
We can’t keep going backwards. We need to change course.
The Nationals have a plan to fix the basics and get Australia back on track. We’ll deliver:
Lower inflation - a stronger economy. By stopping wasteful spending, reducing red tape and cutting taxes (like slashing fuel excise in half – saving you on average $14 per tank), we can ease cost-of-living pressures for families and businesses.
Cheaper energy. Regional Australia powers our nation. We’ll unlock our massive reserves of Australian gas for use in our nation to drive down prices, and invest in a balanced, long-term energy plan - that includes clean and reliable, zero-emissions nuclear energy.
Affordable homes. We’ll unlock up to 500,000 new homes by investing in water, sewerage, and roads works that hold building developments back up to 30 percent in the regions. We’ll help people get on the housing ladder, by putting Australians first, and stopping foreign property investors from competing.
Safer communities. We will get tough on violent crime by non-citizens, boost our defence and national security, tighten bail laws and knife laws, and improve online safety for children.
Better healthcare for the regions. We’ll make it easier to see a GP, bring more doctors, specialists and nurses to rural communities with more incentives to work in the regions.
A fair share for regional Australians. Labor has slashed billions in funding from the regions. The Nationals will fight for our fair share, safer roads, better services, and protect our way of life – guaranteeing funding for the regions.
