John,

I need your help to stop the expansion of assisted suicide in Oregon.

Do you remember SB 1003, the radical assisted suicide bill [[link removed]] that Democrats introduced last month?

Well, it’s been scheduled for a “work session” on Monday, March 31st.

At the work session, lawmakers will decide whether or not to advance this dangerous piece of legislation – and it is absolutely crucial that they do not advance it.

You might recall that SB 1003 would reduce the 15-day waiting period for assisted suicide to a mere 48 hours, allow non-physicians to prescribe lethal medication, and require hospices to advertise whether they facilitate assisted suicide.

Expanding assisted suicide isn’t about compassion for the terminally ill [[link removed]]: It’s about death on demand. This bill is dangerous, and it must be defeated.

So far, the response from pro-life advocates opposing this bill has been absolutely incredible.

174 people and organizations – including mental and medical health professionals and the Oregon Medical Association – submitted written testimony opposing the bill, compared to just 9 submissions supporting it;Pro-life Oregonians like you sent over 700 emails to your senators urging them to oppose SB 1003;And dozens of pro-life advocates traveled to the state Capitol in person to be present for the public hearing and demonstrate a strong pro-life presence.

The momentum is on our side. But we can’t stop here!

Thank you for making your voice heard on this important issue – we’ve stopped the expansion of assisted suicide before, and with your help, we can do it again.

Because medically vulnerable people deserve an advocate,

Sharolyn Smith

Political Director

P.S. We know that we have the votes of the pro-life members. If you would like to make an even bigger impact you can directly send the Democrat members of the committee respectful yet firm emails or letters or even call them on the phone urging them to vote NO on SB 1003 and protect the medically vulnerable.
