It’s been almost a week since our campaign shocked the nation with our surprise early voting breakout in the special election for Florida’s 6th.

Since that news broke, the National Republican Party rallied and in just a few days has mustered over $4.3 million which they’ve rapidly dumped into pro-Randy Fine and anti-Josh Weil ads.

While we raised significantly more than our opponent at outset, Republican outside spending (money spent by PACs not candidates) has closed that gap and spending from national Democrats is nowhere to be found.

As of today, national Republicans have outspent national Democrats by a margin of 10 to 1:

There is a crisis of imagination at the highest levels of our movement. Too many are comfortable with losing if it means erring on the side of caution. Why bother spending in a deep red district, best to keep our powder dry for a safer bet.

Safer bets aren’t coming. From school boards to Capitol Hill - Republicans are beating us because they contest everything no matter how overwhelming the odds may be. 

While we’d love to see the “Very Smart People” in DC come in at the last minute, seize upon an opportunity to reclaim the House, and match the outside money the GOP has pumped into this race - we are operating under the assumption that we’re on our own. The cavalry is not coming for Dems in FL-06.  

We’ve turned a district Trump won by 64% into a battleground all without institutional support in outside spending. It’s looking like we will have to win without it too. 

Take the risk that they won’t. Even the odds. Bet on Dems in Florida’s 6th and make a donation that will have a real tangible impact for your peers fighting on the ground:
