Welcoming the Sundance Film Festival to Boulder, Colorado in 2027
I am thrilled to announce that Boulder, Colorado will be the new home of the Sundance Film Festival starting in 2027. I joined representatives from the Sundance Film Festival, Visit Boulder, City of Boulder, the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, and bipartisan legislators and leaders to celebrate this exciting win for our entire state.
Films help inspire us and tell powerful stories of who we were, who we are, and who we aspire to be. Movies are a huge part of our culture and now Colorado will be a huge part of the movie industry
The cultural and economic impact of the Sundance Film Festival is very positive statewide, with more jobs and more support for our small businesses including stores and restaurants as local residents enjoy films and visitors come to the Film Festival and stay to explore all our state has to offer.
Last year, the Sundance Film Festival…

Attracted 24,000 out-of-state visitors who spent an average of $735 each daySince day one, I have worked to create an environment where creativity and the arts thrive as both a strong part of our economy and a central part of our way of life. Welcoming the Sundance Film Festival to Colorado is a big leap forward in our ongoing commitment to elevate our talented arts and culture industry.

Tell Your Story: Join the Listening Sessions for the Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway
I recently announced plans to build the Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway, an experiential walkway connecting the Colorado State Capitol to Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park. This walkway will help increase pedestrian safety at an intersection by providing Coloradans with a safe passageway to access the downtown Denver area, while telling the story of Colorado’s 150 years through an iconic walkway in the civic heart of Colorado.
As always, we are committed to representing all communities across Colorado, so we look forward to hearing from you at one of our upcoming listening sessions about the Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway:

Call for Artists - Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway
In partnership with the Office of Economic Development and International Trade’s Colorado Creative Industries, I opened up submissions for local artists to integrate their work in the Colorado 150th Pedestrian Walkway. Artists should submit their work by April 1st, 2025.
- Up to 20 artists or artist teams will be selected to create projects depicting or celebrating one of Colorado's historical narratives.
- The ideal completion for the walkway will be August 2026. The artist selection process will be complete by June 1st, and we expect to begin the design process in the Summer of 2025. The Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway will serve as a new gateway into revitalized Downtown Denver. The initiative aims to tell the story of Colorado’s 150 years while further re-energizing and highlighting the Civic Center area.
