You know I hate to send “sky is falling” emails. There is no need to fake urgency when the truth is scarier than fiction.

So I’m going to tell it to you straight: I’m in the most danger I’ve ever been in since I was first elected to Congress.

I want to explain why I’m so worried and why the upcoming end-of-quarter deadline is so important for our campaign. If you can rush in a donation right now to help us reach our goal, I’ll leave a link here.

Where we stand: I’m one of the few Democrats representing a Trump district who is also leading the fight against the unconstitutional efforts we’re seeing in D.C. My outspokenness, however, puts a huge political target on my back.

What’s coming next: National Republicans just listed me #1 on their target list. This signals to all the dark-money Super PACs (especially Elon Musk’s…) that my district is where they should be sending their attack money. This deadline is vital - we have to scare them off with our grassroots strength.

What decisions we need to make: After this deadline, I have to make a major decision about how many staff we can hire and how soon we can get organizers on the ground. One of our strategic advantages in the past has been early organizing and investment in our Latino community. I want to make these same investments, but we have to reach our goal to do it!

What I need from this team: Well, I really need your help hitting our end of quarter fundraising goal! If we fall short, the GOP will double down and start their attacks early. I really, really don’t want that to happen.
