John,
With the uncertainty surrounding the trade war with
the US, it’s more important than ever that Canada clean up its public
finances and reduce taxes to make our economy more competitive and
productive.
There is a basic law in public finance: You cannot
reduce taxes sustainably unless you cut spending and eliminate the
deficit first.
Why? Because today’s deficits
will have to be paid by higher taxes tomorrow.
Or they will be
paid indirectly by inflation if they are financed by monetary creation
by the Bank of Canada.
The establishment parties are promising
tax cuts, but they never talk about corresponding spending cuts.
They are too afraid to displease groups that
benefit from wasteful government spending at the expense of all
Canadians.
They will continue to put us in debt.
This is so
irresponsible.
The PPC is a serious party, and we have
a list of unnecessary or poorly managed federal programs that are
wasting tens of billions of dollars every year, that can be either
completely eliminated or partly slashed.
These include:
- Eliminate corporate welfare to save $25
billion
- Eliminate foreign aid to save $10 billion
- Stop sending money to Ukraine to save at least $5
billion
- Eliminate subsidies to CBC and the media to save $2 billion
- Cut equalization at least by half to save $13
billion
- Cut spending on Indigenous programs, which has tripled under
Trudeau to $32 billion, to save billions of dollars
- Eliminate all programs to promote DEI, multiculturalism,
and other grants to thousands of groups across the country, to save
billions of dollars
- Eliminate Trudeau’s new unconstitutional national social programs
(daycare, pharmacare, dental care) to save several billion
dollars
These spending cuts would
allow for more than $60 billion in savings every year.
This is more than enough to get rid of this year’s deficit,
which is expected to reach almost $50 billion.
This
means that a People’s Party government could start cutting taxes
SUSTAINABLY, AND NOT BY
BORROWING MORE MONEY, in the second year of its
mandate.
John, I want to manage taxpayers’ money in a
responsible manner so that Canadians can prosper.
And you know
that our PPC team has also always managed your donations in a
responsible way.
Do you trust us enough to make
another $100 donation to our Election Campaign Fund today as I
continue to tour the country to sell these policies to
voters?
Many thanks,
-Max
