Earlier this month, our staff headed over to North Carolina for our biannual staff retreat. During our week, we skilled up our conflict resolution skills, built deeper connections with each other, and dove into lingering strategy questions. We were excited to have former long-time staff member, Jes K., join us as a special guest facilitator. It was a week of growth, reflection, and hard conversations. We're looking forward to putting our learnings into action. -RG team
Chapter Organizing Leadership Development Team
Notes to Our Base - Informal observations about the times we’re in from the Chapter Organizing Leadership Development team on RG staff.
What we’re seeing:
* Flood the zone + Authoritarian Creep
* Attacks on Gaza continuing, Mahmoud Khalil & repression
* Dismantling of social security, department of education,
How Folks are Organizing:
* RG member leaders sharing “Know Your Rights” posters in their communities
* DC members showing up consistently in support of federal workers -– organizing, rallying, etc.
* RG member leaders sticking with long-term campaigns for affordable, social housing. We are responding to the current moment & continuing to build power for the long-term (defense & offense)
How we’re grounding in this moment:
* Doubling down on what we know works: skilling up our base to be able to bring people in & build leadership to resource & throw down with movements;
* We cohosted a Donor Courage & State Repression event to ground in exercising safety and courage in this era.
Calls to action:
* Join + invite your folks to Organizer Praxis [[link removed]] (Deadline is April 1)
* Build this movement of young people with wealth organizing to end wealth hoarding & resist fascism: Learn from other member leaders & share how you’re bringing people into movement [[link removed]] (April 29th, 7-8pm ET)
What’s healing us right now:
* Poems: Blessing Over Organizing
* V’ahavta + You Were Made For This
* Resistance Revival Chorus with Rhiannon Giddens "All You Fascists Bound To Lose"
As the terrain shifts daily, we’re here, processing and plotting with y’all. We hope to be in continued conversation about how we’re moving through these times. - COLD Team (Christina, Daniela, Eliza, Katie, Nicole, and Tucker)

RG Ohio's annual retreat took place on Saturday, March 15th, and we had a blast! We shared a delicious brunch with four friends from Motherful, our current campaign partner, and spent the next several hours scheming, laughing, and hanging out with the illustrious Christina Brown. 10/10, doesn't get any better than this!
