You've probably heard about the recent scandal of top Trump officials using non-official channels to communicate about military plans. 

The controversy raises questions about why government officials were using Signal, an encrypted messaging app. Were they trying to avoid oversight and ensure any records of the conversation were lost? Or was it simply more convenient for them?
