John,
At Campaign for Southern Equality, we're constantly brainstorming ways to get funding directly into the hands of Southern LGBTQ+ folks – both people who need a little help right now, and folks working to support other queer people through wellness offerings or research into our community. That's why we're excited to offer two opportunities this spring: a fellowship program for Southern healers, and a research grant to support students and early career researchers focusing on the experiences of Southern LGBTQ+ people.

Since 2021, Campaign for Southern Equality's Healing & Resilience Program has been honored to offer micro grants to BIPOC wellness practitioners living in the South who dedicate their services to LGBTQ+ people. In that time we have awarded and connected with approximately 60 groups and individuals doing incredible work. This year we are deepening our partnerships and strengthening the support to local practitioners with the Southern Healer's Fellowship!
If you are a BIPOC person who has a credentialed, long-standing, or demonstrated practice as a counselor, a therapist, a reiki practitioner, a yoga instructor, a somatics coach, or another modality of healing, please apply for our Southern Healers fellowship by April 4! ([link removed])

More than 30% of all LGBTQ+ people in the United States call the American South home. Yet, less than 10% of the social research on this population highlights the experiences of those in the region. The lack of data makes it challenging to craft rebuttals to, articulate the effects of, and secure protections against the attacks on LGBTQ+ people and communities in the South. The Southern Equality Research and Policy Center (SERPC) ([link removed]) developed the Southern Equality Research Grant to support students and early career researchers conduct rigorous research investigating social problems that affect the lived experiences and life chances of LGBTQ people in the region.
These research grants are open to undergraduate students attending a four-year institution, graduate students enrolled in a master's or doctoral program, and early career researchers. If you are a student or early career researcher conducting research on LGBTQ+ Southerners, please submit your application for a grant by April 18th. ([link removed])
Our whole team is really excited about these grants; we truly love the opportunity to support queer folks doing critical work uplifting or studying LGBTQ+ communities in the South, and hope you (or people you know!) apply. Please help us spread the word, too, by forwarding this to any healers or researchers you know – you never know if one email could make a big difference in the work folks are able to accomplish this year.
Thanks for all you do,
Campaign for Southern Equality
