We took the fight to protect Medicaid directly to Congressmembers last week!

Congress was in recess and back in their home districts and we showed up in communities and at their offices to advocate to protect Medicaid.

Here’s what we accomplished last week:

• We met with elected officials across Michigan, Illinois, California, and Georgia so they could hear directly from caregivers, care recipients, and care advocates on how cuts to Medicaid would affect them and the people they love. 
• We hosted a roundtable discussion with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, a big supporter of Medicaid, to show him that his support is critical as we continue to fight for care. 
• We delivered a protect Medicaid petition with over 1.5k signatures to Georgia Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. 
• We rallied in California and Michigan in front of in-district Congressional offices alongside more than 600 people, to show elected leaders that they need to answer to us if they take away our health care. 

Our actions, our calls, our petitions are making a difference and we need to keep going! 

Congressmembers are back in DC this week and negotiations will continue on proposed cuts in our national budget. 

Take 3 minutes right now and call your Congressmembers and tell them: No cuts to Medicaid. It’s important to continue to make calls even if you’ve called before and even if your Congressmembers are supportive of care. Every call can make a difference.
