Hi John, In the next few months, Congress will be voting on how to fund Border Patrol. After visiting the border five times, AFP and AFP Foundation learned that while securing the border isn’t easy, the message we’ve heard directly from Border Patrol agents couldn’t be clearer. One thing consistently stands out — they need personnel, infrastructure, and technology working together. This is where funding needs to be allocated. But it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. What’s required along the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where the river snakes through every bend, is entirely different from the open desert of Yuma, Arizona. Effective border security strategies rely on leveraging local knowledge to meet the unique challenges of each border sector. To help you understand this better, we’ve prepared a short video where I share insights from our visits to the border and explain the exact needs Border Patrol agents have highlighted to us. 👉 Watch the video and see the needs for yourself. |
