We know that one of the most effective ways to fight back against the Trump Administration’s reckless policies is to show up, speak out, and get engaged.

That’s why I was proud to host a town hall earlier this month, where nearly 2,000 Coloradans gathered to voice their concerns and get their questions answered.

I’ll explain more below, but if you already know that our government needs to put the concerns of regular families first — not the wishes of billionaires like Elon Musk — chip in today to help make sure our district’s voices and values continue to be heard in the halls of Congress.

Over the past two months, I have heard from so many Coloradans who are worried about their Social Security checks, whether their children will still have access to health care, or if they’ll be able to keep their jobs.

It’s clear that regular families are hurting right now. Costs are continuing to rise, and people are worried about their next paycheck or their next doctor’s appointment.

But Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and their far-right allies don’t care. As long as our government is working for billionaires like them, they’ll continue to abandon the needs of regular families.

That’s exactly why we need more leaders in government who actually understand the needs of regular people. Leaders who know what it’s like to struggle.

I grew up in a regular middle-class family. My mom was a hairdresser, and my dad worked in construction. But everything changed when my mom had a back injury when I was just six years old. Like so many Americans, she was over-prescribed opioids, which led to a decades-long addiction, including heroin.

I was unlikely to graduate high school, let alone be a member of Congress, but I was given a chance to build a better life. I had access to great schools and teachers that believed in me.

Because of them, I became the first person in my family to graduate from both high school and college, and I went on to serve in the Colorado legislature for 10 years — fighting for regular families like mine.

For far too long, our elected officials have prioritized the wealthy over the needs of regular people. But since my very first day in Congress, I’ve worked to change that.

My upbringing couldn’t be more different from Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s. While they prioritize tax breaks for billionaires, I’m fighting day and night to invest back in the future of our country and level the playing field for regular people. If you agree with me, I’d be grateful to have your support as we take on the urgent fights that lie ahead.
