The UK just made billions in cuts while getting ready to slash a Big Tech tax in trade talks with Trump. Can you join our campaign to stop this disastrous US-UK trade deal?

Hi John,
The Chancellor’s spring statement has prompted horror. Billions in cuts to the people most in need, at home and abroad. And at the same time: no new levies on the extreme wealth of the super-rich.
What’s more, it could get even worse.
Now Keir Starmer’s government is preparing to take a knife to the digital services tax which is due to raise billions from the US tech giants who we all know don't pay their way.(1)
Today business minister Jonathan Reynolds said he’s “open to a conversation” about changing the Big Tech tax.(2)
It's part of trade talks which the UK is entering with one hand tied behind its back – because of our government’s unwillingness to stand up to Trump.
The money from the Big Tech tax is budgeted for in the spring statement. So offering it up to Trump means yet more cuts to social security, public services or international aid.
John, can you take action now and join the campaign to stop a toxic trade deal with Donald Trump? More than 20,000 of us are already in and we really need everyone to add their voice.

This week the UK tech minister Peter Kyle said “nothing is off the table” in US trade talks.(3)
But there are things that should be off the table in a trade deal with Trump.
The NHS should be nowhere near these talks. We do not want US corporations getting their hands on our NHS services, nor on our patient data which we know they are chasing.
There should be no question of our food standards being up for grabs – chlorinated chicken, hormone-fed beef and the like should be permanently off the menu.
And the UK government should be standing up to the Big Tech giants that run platforms like Facebook, Amazon and X, which are taking more and more control over our society while paying tiny amounts of tax.
Other countries are responding to Trump’s tariff war by standing their ground. Yet our government has taken money from the sick, the disabled and people in poverty around the world and is now ready to offer it up to the likes of Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.(4)
Can you join our call on the UK government to stand up to Trump and say no to a toxic trade deal now?
