For too long, Wisconsin’s budget has overlooked the gun violence crisis. Essential programs that save lives have been cut out by the legislature, year after year.

Join us to help change that on April 3rd at 7:00 PM for a special Virtual Action Team event with the Wisconsin Gun Violence Prevention Coalition. The Joint Finance Committee is holding listening sessions across the state, and this is our opportunity to make sure gun violence prevention stays in the budget where it belongs.

In past budget cycles, funding for community violence intervention programs was eliminated, and, while the Office of School Safety received stopgap funding, it was still cut from the state budget—leaving its future uncertain. These programs are proven to reduce violence and keep communities safe, yet they’ve been left without long-term support.

Join us on April 3rd to help keep these measures in the budget. We’ll help you craft feedback, understand the Joint Finance Committee process, and prepare to share feedback in person or submit your thoughts online.
