Team,
We are nearing the end of Women’s History Month, and we cannot let this opportunity go by without acknowledging the incredible women in the Virginia legislature who are fighting for our rights daily.
Currently in Virginia, women make up the majority of the Democratic caucus in both the House and Senate. Among other critical issues, they have been leading the charge in ensuring that our amendment to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution advances, as well as fighting to protect access to contraception (which was recently gutted by Governor Youngkin). We couldn’t do this work without them.
We have come a long way from the days of ultrasound requirements and TRAP laws to now being on the precipice of protecting abortion access once and for all. This progress runs parallel to bringing more women's voices into these chambers.
But here’s the thing: This November, every single seat in the VA House is up for re-election. To protect not just our Democratic majority but to continue to elect pro-choice women to office, we are going to need all hands on deck.
In honor of Women’s History Month, will you rush $25 or whatever you can today? ([link removed])
