If you’ve been around Boundless for any length of time, you know we don’t shy away from discussing real issues, even if it gets uncomfortable. This week on “The Boundless Show,” my husband and I, along with Jeff Wilson, discuss the topic of sexual purity and integrity. This episode came about after a conversation I had with Lisa where I expressed my frustration over the lack of commitment to purity among many of my Christian friends.
Now, I’m not claiming to have it all together — as you’ll hear on the show — but it genuinely saddens me that so many Christians struggle to embrace God’s design for sexuality as the good and life-giving gift that it is. God desires the best for us, and when we live within His boundaries for sexuality, we find both fruitfulness and safety.
I encourage you to give the episode a listen. In fact, we had so much to cover that we had to split it into two segments, so be sure to catch part two next week. And if you want to dive even deeper, keep an eye out for a brand-new article from Rebecca Hastings on the topic, releasing Monday.
No matter your past experiences, we want you to know this: there is freedom from shame. God can redeem your story and offer you hope for the future. As Juli Slattery beautifully puts it:
“While you cannot find a place to hide from the consequences of sin, there is a reality in which your shame can be erased. Because what happened on the cross didn’t stay on the cross, our Father God has promised, ‘Your sins will be remembered no more’ (Hebrews 8:12).” |
