VIDEO OF THE DAY: International reporters drop nightmare bombshell on beleaguered Trump team
Reporters at German newspaper Der Spiegel were able to easily and freely access personal data — including personal user accounts, phone numbers, and even passwords — of Trump's top national security officials, including Defense Sec. and DUI hire Pete Hegseth, national security adviser and emoji buff Mike Waltz, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Seriously. The already disqualifying behavior of adding a random journalist to a frickin' Signal group chat discussing imminent military strikes isn't the only way Trump's goons have endangered US national security. Their private information allowing access into those very unsecured accounts is readily available on the internet, which is precisely why you don't use commercial apps on personal devices to conduct highly sensitive, top-secret government business in the first place. But her emails, though, right? Right?

Elon Musk drops money bomb on critical state Supreme Court race
State Democracy Defenders: The most important race in the country right now is in Wisconsin where the balance of the Supreme Court (in America's purplest state!) will hinge on one seat that is on the ballot in 20 days. Elon is spending millions to buy the race — and the court and state — for Trump. Click here to fight back and stop Musk and Trump!
Trump has a middle-of-the-night meltdown about, uh, all the things
The MAGA cult leader fired off a signature batch of late-night, thumb-smashed grievance screeds over night, railing on his social media platform against, well, just about everything. NPR, PBS, Canada, Europe, specific judges, judges in general, "the system," and the "Radical Left Democrat Party" all made predictable appearances. Trump went on to declare, in all caps, of course, that "LIBERATION DAY IN AMERICA IS COMING." Please, for the love of all that his holy, let that last part actually be true.
Turkish student at Tufts University detained, video shows masked people handcuffing her
Welcome to Trump's America, where masking to prevent disease spread is banned in many places but masking for faceless, plain-clothed Gestapo-esque goons who yank immigrant women off the street and throw them into vans is apparently very legal. Rumeysa Ozturk, 30, a Fulbright Scholar and doctoral student at Tufts University, was walking to meet some friends for iftar (fast-breaking meal during Ramadan) around 5:30pm when unmarked vehicles pulled up, depositing masked agents onto the street who immediately detained her without charge or explanation. "It looked like a kidnapping," said witness Michael Mathis, a 32-year-old software engineer whose surveillance camera captured the arrest. "They approach her and start grabbing her with their faces covered. They’re covering their faces. They're in unmarked vehicles." A judge ordered that Ozturk, a Turkish international, not be moved outside the District of Massachusetts without 48 hours advance notice, but as of Wednesday evening, the US Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s online detainee locator system listed her as being held at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile, Louisiana. A DHS spokesman said that Ozturk had "engaged in activities in support of Hamas, a foreign terrorist organization that relishes the killing of Americans" without providing any supporting evidence or specifying what those activities might have been.

RFK Jr. to slash 10,000 jobs from Health and Human Services Department
Awesome! Cutting an additional 10,000 employees from the Health and Human Services workforce after roughly 10,000 have already opted to leave upon the return of Trump will in no way hamper the agency's ability to successfully operate the Centers for Disease Control, the Food and Drug Administration, or the National Institutes of Health. "We will eliminate an entire alphabet soup of departments, while preserving their core functions," the anti-vaxx conspiracy theorist announced on nüTwitter without explanation. Hemorrhaging 25% of the HHS workforce in two months in the face of ever-growing health-related challenges... what could possibly go horribly wrong?

Trump pardon may get Jan. 6 rioter out of child porn charges — seriously
Now would ALSO be a good time to remind everyone that the wannabe dictator is considering a compensation fund — paid for with American tax dollars, of course — for the MAGA insurrectionists and rioters he pardoned on his first day back in office, including true patriot David Daniel, who is currently arguing in court with a straight face that Trump's blanket pardon “requires dismissal” of his charges related to possession of child pornography and firearms. Daniel was originally arrested in 2023 for assaulting police officers during the MAGA cult leader's failed insurrection. It is so good to be great again.
Marjorie Taylor Greene tells British reporter "go back to your country" when quizzed over Signal scandal
The QAnon congresswoman snapped at a Sky News US correspondent yesterday for daring to ask her about the Trump administration leaking plans to bomb Yemeni Houthis on a group chat, angrily responding, "Why don't you go back to your country?" It's always a good sign when Republicans resort to random othering to avoid literally anything resembling accountability. Hilariously, Greene pointed at a second reporter who did not disappoint: "I'm an American and I'd like to hear your answer to what she’s asking." Cornered by her own ineptitude, the Jewish space laser aficionado defaulted to a tired, pathetic rant about Joe Biden (why not) and the southern border. Could someone please ask Greene to locate Yemen on a map the next time she steps in front of a microphone?
Mystery deepens over four missing US soldiers in Lithuania after abandoned tank found
New details have emerged during the search for four US Army soldiers who mysteriously vanished in Lithuania during a training exercise after the armored vehicle they operated was discovered "submerged in a body of water." The soldiers and an M88 Hercules armored recovery vehicle were reported missing Tuesday during a tactical training exercise in Pabradė, a town near the Belarusian border and about 30 miles northeast of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. Though hundreds of personnel from the US Army and Lithuanian Armed Forces — along with other state and private agencies — continued to search for the missing soldiers through Wednesday night, Donald Trump told reporters yesterday he had not been briefed about the incident, sparking anger among members of Congress as the MAGA cult leader continued trying to brush off his administration's deeply embarrassing and dangerous Signal group chat scandal. You'd think a guy who has laughably claimed to have done "more for the troops" than any other president in US history would take at least a passing interest in four missing servicemembers, but then doing so does not serve his own personal self-interest, so, yeah, no.
University of Alabama doctoral student nabbed by ICE as Trump's college crackdown continues
Alireza Doroudi, an Iranian-born doctoral candidate studying mechanical engineering, was arrested at his home Tuesday at 5am and taken to an undisclosed detention facility by immigration authorities, as the Trump administration continues to target non-US citizens in higher education. The University of Alabama College Democrats said in a Wednesday statement that it is aware of Doroudi's arrest and detainment, calling the news a bitter blow to the campus community. "Our fears have come to pass. Donald Trump, Tom Homan, and ICE have struck a cold, vicious dagger through the heart of UA's international community," the group said. "As far as we know right now, ICE is yet to provide any justification for their actions, so we are not sure if this persecution is politically motivated, as has been seen in other universities around the country." Unfortunately, our money is on yes.
Delaware caves to Elon Musk, passes new law designed to further empower oligarchs
After a Delaware judge declared that Elon Musk’s titanic $56 billion Tesla pay package was illegal, the world's richest man-toddler went to war, pulling Tesla’s incorporation from the state and using every ounce of his influence and wealth to bully the legislature into changing the rules. Musk had his lawyers draft a bill, SB21, to allow him and his billionaire cronies to essentially steal from the companies they control — and then pressured legislators into passing it as quickly as possible. After being joined by Mark Zuckerberg and other big tech companies, Delaware legislators caved and passed the bill, giving a huge handout to the megawealthy and basically allowing Elon to pass his own laws. A grim, new low in the ongoing oligarchal takeover of America.
