I hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing to share an urgent call to action that requires your support. The National Coalition for the Homeless is organizing a national day of action next month, and we need your help!

On April 22, thousands of advocates and people with lived experience of homelessness will be calling for Housing Now! We will be calling on our elected officials to stop fining and arresting unhoused folks, and to block detrimental cuts to Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs and staffing that put vulnerable individuals and families at risk.

Across our community, we are witnessing an alarming trend: an increasing number of people are being fined, ticketed and arrested, simply trying to survive. Potential cuts to HUD programs will not only reduce resources for affordable housing but also jeopardize the essential support services that help individuals transition out of homelessness and into stable living environments.

The Housing Now! rallies aim to raise awareness and advocate for policy change that prioritizes the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of all individuals, regardless of their housing status. We all need a safe place to call home, and it is unacceptable that many are facing incarceration simply because they have nowhere to go.

To make this rally a success, we need your help. We are seeking financial contributions to cover the costs of organizing the event, including permits, materials, and outreach efforts. Your donation will help amplify our message and ensure that we reach as many people as possible.

• Spread the Word: Share this initiative with your networks. The more people who know about our rally, the more powerful our message will be.
• Volunteer: Join us in person on April 22, 2025, in Washington, DC or your local community. We need hands to help  with logistics, setup, and engaging with attendees.

Together, we can make a difference. Let’s stand up for those whose voices are often silenced and work towards a future where everyone has access to safe, affordable housing.
