John, I’ve just heard from several of our teams on the ground across the country that Reform UK have been sending personalised letters to millions of households ahead of the Local Elections.
We believe they have sent this to most households with an eligible voter across most of the areas which have elections on 1st May.
This is a huge campaign and will have cost them a fortune. | | We also estimate that they have spent over £60,000 on digital advertising in seats we have a good chance of making gains in.
Nigel Farage and Reform’s destructive, divisive politics poses an enormous threat to the future of our country, and we cannot allow them to bank-roll these elections with this extraordinary amount of spending. | | In the last few days our team has been busy finalising our own national Direct Mail campaign, with letters like this one from Ed Davey, and seat-specific leaflets highlighting how Liberal Democrats are improving local communities, and how the other parties are failing to deliver. | | We are just about to send our literature to print, but as things currently stand, we cannot afford to match the volume that Reform is sending to voters.
We urgently need your support so that we can scale up our operation and compete with Reform’s campaign.
For every £25 donated to our campaign, we can print an extra 1,200 A4 colour leaflets or reach 2,500 people online. | | If we don’t scale up our campaign we risk voters being won over by their relentless campaign, squeezing our vote and preventing us from making gains.
That would be a disaster - we all know that Reform does not have the best interest of this country at heart.
But Liberal Democrats do. We care deeply about the communities we are campaigning to represent - and with your support, we can make it happen.
So, wherever you are in the country - and whether you have elections this May or not - if you agree that the last thing this country needs is Reform UK having more power, please donate to our Local Election campaign today! | | Thank you for your support.
Best wishes, | | | Cllr Dave McCobb Director of Field Campaigns Liberal Democrats | | | | | |
