Yesterday was historic in Pennsylvania.
We’re at a critical moment in this fight for our values, our health, and our future. As you know, Donald Trump has launched relentless attacks on the things we hold dear: Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), biomedical research, and vaccines and public health. These are not just policies—these are lifelines for millions of people, and we cannot afford to let them be torn down.
As a physician legislator, I am personally invested in protecting these vital programs. Yesterday, the Democratic majority in the State House passed measures to enshrine facets of the Affordable Care Act [[link removed]] at the state level, to ensure Pennsylvanians are protected if Trump continues to attack the ACA.
Yesterday also saw two special elections - where we held the majority in the State House, and we flipped a State Senate seat that hasn’t been held by a Democrat since the late 1800s! [[link removed]] This is proof that when we stand united, we can accomplish the impossible. But the work is far from over, and I need your help to keep up the momentum.
