John,
BREAKING NEWS: Rep. Summer Lee has introduced a bill that would ABOLISH
super PAC spending in federal elections, severely curtailing the
corrupting influence that billionaires and corporations exert in our
political process. The bill places a $5,000 per calendar year limit on
contributions to super PACs, effectively abolishing them.

For 15 years, super PACs have given billionaires, corporations, and other
wealthy interests a backdoor to pour unlimited money into our elections.
These unlimited contributions to super PACs, often totaling millions of
dollars during federal elections, present the threat of corruption and the
appearance of corruption in the political process. Further, super PACs
have the power to shape elections, and candidates’ ability to direct
massive contributions to super PACs can make or break campaigns.
Our democracy is meant to work by and for we, the people. This legislation
would mark a major step forward in our fight for a republic where every
voice and every vote counts.
